Mayor Gary Grasso, a life-long Republican, is running for DuPage County Board Chairman to ensure that DuPage County remains a special place for families, workers, businesses and you to call home. As the Mayor of Burr Ridge, and also a 10 year member of the DuPage County Board of Health, Gary will continue to fight for and lead commonsense and fiscally responsible government as the next County Board Chairman. The Grasso Plan for DuPage will hold the line on taxes while keeping up the tradition of law enforcement in DuPage. Mayor Grasso also will continue to provide health services within our means, look for opportunities to consolidate government services that provide better services overall to the public, promote DuPage County for development and expanding employment opportunities, continue to fund road projects to ease traffic congestion, and work cooperatively with all agencies to preserve our great parks, forests and open spaces. Gary Grasso is currently the Mayor of Burr Ridge, Illinois and a Trustee of the DuPage County Board of Health. He has served as Mayor of Burr Ridge since 2005 and as Trustee of the DuPage County Board of Health since 1999. He is a former Burr Ridge trustee, and also was a trustee of the Thomas Ford Memorial Library Foundation and its governing Board in Western Springs, Illinois, as well as a former member of the Parish Council and School Board for St. John of the Cross parish and grammar school. Gary earned his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University ('73), a European Diploma from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (Bologna, Italy) and his law degree from Fordham University Law School ('78). He has been married to Janet Ryan Grasso since 1978. They have six children and a new daughter-in-law.
